Chemotherapy is one of the primary treatments for malignant tumors. The treatment involves the administration of cytostatic (anti-cancer) drugs to destroy cancer cells.
Chemotherapy at Salve Medica
If cancer diagnosis is confirmed in your case, you will receive personalized medical care. Oncological treatment provided in the ward is financed by the National Health Fund. We have the possibility to administer anti-cancer drugs against a fee in cases where the corresponding treatment is not reimbursed by the National Health Fund or drug programs. The Oncology and Chemotherapy Ward is made up of a team of experienced clinical oncologists, chemotherapists, oncological nurses and pharmacists with extensive experience of working at major oncology centers in Poland. Types of chemotherapy at Salve Medica
At Salve Medica's Oncology Ward, we administer chemotherapy to patients in two forms depending on the type of cancer:
- IV chemotherapy - the most common type, involves the administration of cytostatic drugs into the bloodstream via the intravenous route,
- oral chemotherapy - cytostatic drugs in the form of oral tablets that can be taken at home.
With the patient's comfort in mind we select the personalized treatment adapted to the type of disease and we administer chemotherapy in three regimens:
- in an outpatient regime in an in an outpatient clinic,
- one-day regimen during daytime stay in the morning or afternoon hours suitable for persons who are working or who need support from relatives,
- in hospitalization regime during stay in the hospital that is open 24/7.
Is your therapy not reimbursed in Poland?
If a particular treatment that is suitable for you is not available within the scope of National Health Fund financing and you do not qualify for drug programs, we will help you find a suitable therapy. At Salve Medica you can benefit from clinical trials and paid drug therapy that is not reimbursed in Poland.
